GEBIS welcomes 25 Happy Course members to the monastery today, including four braving the weather coming all the way from Summerside with at least 2-hour drive. These students joined the six-week introductory classes offered at the new public Buddhist centre called GEBIS Charlottetown, about a month ago.

今天歡迎25名到僧院, 參加"快樂"課程，
其中包括 四個 [不顧]天氣[惡劣]勇敢地從薩默賽德,開至少2小時車程的,到僧院.
這些學生,大約一個月前,都曾參加 "在新的佛教中心 GEBIS Charlottetown" 所舉辦的"為期六週"的 "入門課程".
A well-designed "feast" including a guided tour to the prayer hall, live dialectics demonstration in English, sharing on why choosing to become a monk, candle-light offering and a group photo-op.

Venerable Jonathan (from Los Angeles) and Venerable Daniel (from Taiwan) debated on whether the following statement is valid -- "if someone treated me unreasonably, I should get upset". Audience thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the learning through such rigorous reasoning.

辯論如下之辯題是否有效[成立] –
即辯題是“如果有人不合理地對待我，我應該感到生氣”
觀眾通過這種嚴格的推理, 在學習中,徹底享受和感激。
Venerable Kelvin (from Toronto) shared his joy through GEBIS learning program and demonstrated how and why he made the choice of becoming a monk, has been pleased with his learning and is yearning to learn more. He encouraged everyone to cherish such learning opportunity with others collectively.
釋Kelvin（來自多倫多）分享他通過GEBIS的學習計劃 ,得到的喜悅，
並展示了他如何 及為什麼會選擇成為僧人，
且他對他的學習感到高興，並渴望瞭解更多。
他鼓勵每個人與他人一起珍惜這種學習機會。
The memorable and warm event concludes with candle-light offering as participants pray for cultivation of wisdom and compassion. May the illumination dispel the darkness of our hearts!
令人難忘和溫暖的活動, 結束在蠟燭供燈中-

...>福智在加拿大的GEBIS (大覺佛學院) 對加拿大的社會人士, 也是開"快樂"課程啊!
只是在加拿大的"快樂"課程,是由福僧來帶領, 且還以辯經的方式來吸引這些外國人士.
反觀, 台灣福智的"快樂"課程,似是由一群有心理諮詢經驗的專家,來帶領.
然, 廣論的推廣, 真是需要用這樣的"世俗課程"來領引嗎?
